This monumental building was largely restored to its original Gerrit Van Arkel design, and it has regained much of its appeal. The High Light, a striking spatial dome of steel and glass, is the crowning glory of this Dutch monument. There are twenty design and art projects that run through the building. Reconstruction and restoration. The Diamond exchange was in poor condition at the start of the 21st Century. Many of its original charm was lost due to fires, additions and renovations. It was now an inward-looking office colossus. It required extensive restoration and reconstruction. Two striking towers have been placed on the roof. The original roof edge and the tympana were also restored. Based on drawings and photos, the authentic tile panels of the entrance were reproduced. All floors were stripped and reorganized to make it a modern office building. These are the current offices, meeting rooms, event spaces, flexible workplaces, and meeting rooms. The High Light, a steel and glass dome that covers the roof, is the most significant change. Its faceted, diamond-like shape is a reminder of the monument’s past. The center of the diamond trade. Crowning the roof. Gridshell principle is the basis of the dome on the roof. This allows for a lot of freedom in design and large spans. Parametric design principles were used to create a transparent and light dome. No two components are the same. The High Light is a confident statement that defines the project’s face while maintaining a respectful relationship to the monument. As a result of the most recent design techniques and methods, the unique spatial experience of the glass dome is naturally embedded in a monument located in Amsterdam’s city center. Integrating art and design. Collaboration of 20 artists was used to create the design for Capital C. They also contributed artworks and design elements that were part of Capital C’s identity. The central hall has a pop-up gallery that can be used to display exhibitions from Amsterdam galleries. Each space is unique because of the incorporation of art installations and design enhancements. The ground floor was used as parking. A 4-meter deep basement was dug to provide underground parking for 18 cars or 200 bikes. A ground-level event space and a lunch area were added, and an overall transparent facade was created. Gabriel Lester designed the terrace that is now located in front of this building. It is surrounded by a green zone, creating a pleasant public space in an area once heavily populated by cars. The building was transformed from an inward-oriented monofunctional office building to a multi-use public building. It has been restored to its former glory. The restoration of the Diamond Exchange has brought back an iconic building to Amsterdam’s heart. Also, the public space on its roof has become an important part the city. Capital C is a modern revitalization of an iconic building. It combines history, public space and the dynamic of the international creative industries and art. source https://retaildesignblog.net/2022/12/01/diamond-exchange-capital-c-amsterdam-by-architectural-studio-zja/ ►►►► Our Services: Bigcommerce automation, Bigcommerce product recommendation, Bigcommerce upsell RPA, System integration, Workflow management, Integration platform, E Office, .
